CARRABBA'S ITALIAN GRILL

Direction matters as much as the letter. CARRABBA'S ITALIAN GRILL sits at a C (74/100) today, but its inspections have been getting cleaner, not messier — an improving trend a single grade can't show.

It currently ranks safer than 18% of Volusia County restaurants we grade. The most recent report (March 20, 2026) still cited 2 high-priority, 1 intermediate, and 7 basic violations, so there's room to climb. Diner rating: 4.5 from 3,053 reviews. Menus here flag vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, paleo, and other dietary options.

What diners say — our read

There is no middle ground in these 20 reviews. Reviews mentioning the staff average 3.7 stars, so it divides opinion rather than settling it. After that, how long an order takes appears most often — 25% of the corpus, averaging 3.4.

Of the 20 rated reviews, 15 sit at four stars or better and 5 at two or below. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 13 of 20. Behind those, whether food comes out hot is raised in 20% of reviews (3.0 average).

On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a C (74/100) with 2 high-priority, 1 intermediate, and 7 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. That result dates from March 20, 2026. The trend across inspections is improvement. That puts it ahead of 18% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. What the inspector actually wrote up: cross-contamination.

This is a listing where the two measures each tell half the story. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

The atmosphere first and foremost was amazing. I had two glasses of wine and enjoyed every moment of being in there. The appetizers were good So was the Wine. The server did an excellent job as well keeping up with the demand of the restaurant. However, the main entrée oh my God disgusting it was so salty that I couldn’t taste the flavor of the food. I like it taste for salt. It also tasted like it was a frozen meal amount of fresh meal. I feel like if I wanted a frozen milk I could’ve went to Walmart and plugged it from the frozen section.

I hate to leave a bad review, but beware I was served spoiled food. At first I thought it was the grilled chicken in my pasta that was rotten, but after reading other reviews I believe it may have been the mushrooms. Regardless, I have never sent a plate back to the kitchen, but it really shook me. I spit the spoiled food out immediately, but aftertaste in my mouth was horrible and hard to get rid of. I do fully believe if I had swallowed that food, it would have led to food poisoning. The server was very nice, concerned, and apologetic. The manager also remove the dish off of my ticket as well, but I still do not plan to ever dine at this restaurant again especially after reading other reviews with the same complaint.

Julie is the best!! There are reasons I use Carrabba’s for most of my customer lunches. Julie is definitely one of those reasons. She goes above and beyond in the most amazing way. Her customer service cannot be matched! Thank you for the excellent food and service.

We were at this location a couple of hours ago, and are disappointed with the service we received from Armando. He was friendly but his customer service was lacking. He didn't provide plates for our apps, we were supposed to get bread and a caesar salad with our to go entrees but did not receive either. He placed our items in a bag but we didn't realize the bread and salad were not included until we were home. Our entire meal felt rushed, and didn't taste as good as what we're used to from Carrabbas. We will skip this location in the future.

We went there this week to celebrate our anniversary. The whole wait staff helped each other and made it a great evening for us. The food is always great. I like that they seem a little above Olive Garden. Don't get me wrong we like OG,but Carrabbas is a little classier. Enjoy

Came in for a dinner and their IT system was down, but as a customer, you would have never known. The service was quick; our server was wonderful and friendly. Our food was hot and so good! 10/10

I booked a private room at Carrabba’s for my daughter’s graduation celebration, and it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The manager failed to communicate properly, and when we arrived, we were told the private room had been double-booked. This was extremely upsetting, especially for such an important occasion. The service was very unorganized. We waited over an hour for food, and some of my guests never even received their meals. My own food was delayed as well. The entire event felt chaotic and unprofessional. The only bright spot was our server, Andre. He did his best to take care of our large group, but he was clearly overwhelmed and did not have the support he needed from management or the rest of the staff. A graduation celebration should be a memorable and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, this was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I would not recommend this location, and I will not be returning.

In 36 years I’ve never had to send food back at a restaurant but on Monday I got to have that experience for the first time. It was my first time at Carrabas. I was excited to go and already planned what I wanted before we got there. I wanted to try the Lobster ravioli and It was date night. Our server was pretty cool. The drinks were good. Bread and olive oil was delicious. But the main course, the lobster ravioli left much to be desired. We came at 9pm on a Monday night. We were the only other diners in the restaurant. And somehow the lobster ravioli came out cold. Yes. Cold. I had to send the entire plate back, they apologized and gave us more bread (I don’t know if more bread is just standard) but then another 20 minutes waiting and they brought out the same plate reheated. They did not remake the dish, and I don’t know why it took 20 minutes to microwave the same plate. We weren’t comped or anything. For my first time at Carrabas, I will not be returning.

I must say the truth, The server that serves me as me is outstanding each time that I come in to the establishment. “ Julie” I never have to wait for any items to be brought late or not at great plate temperature.

This is the first time trying this brand of restaurant. This one was across the street from Daytona International Speedway. It was fabulous. The service was excellent and the food and prices were great. Kat was our wonderful waitress 👍
