Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
No clear consensus emerges from these 20 reviews. Reviews mentioning the staff average 3.7 stars, so it divides opinion rather than settling it.
What nobody raises here is whether it is worth the money — it goes unmentioned across all 20 reviews. The split is 18 positive to 1 negative across 20 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 16 of 20.
The kitchen graded a C (70/100) on 3 high-priority, 1 intermediate, and 3 basic violations at its last inspection, which is roughly where the reviews sit too. That result dates from December 1, 2025. The trend across inspections is decline. On health score it sits safer than 3% of the St. Lucie County restaurants we grade. What the inspector actually wrote up: food from approved source and potentially hazardous foods properly thawed.
Neither signal is decisive on its own here, which is why both are shown. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

What a wonderful place You go inside and it's all outside there's tables in the sand and there's two bars and they almost always have entertainment. It's just a plain beautiful place on the river and you can see the ocean from there too.
-
Its just beautiful, right on the water. You do have to go to the bar to order drinks and food. Other than that its a perfect location.
-

My family and I visited Square Grouper on Saturday, May 2, in the afternoon, around 1:30-2:00 PM. I was with my elderly parents, who are in their 80s, and our two small dogs, a Maltese and a Chihuahua, both around 10 lbs. One of them is my seizure alert dog. Upon arrival, we were questioned about the dogs in a way that felt inappropriate. I was asked whether they were service animals, and when I confirmed that one was, I was further questioned about my medical condition, which made me extremely uncomfortable. We were eventually allowed in. I was unaware of the dog policy and was not informed that dogs were not allowed, these people don't even allow children I later saw (not family friendly). I rejoined my parents and we sat at a table off to the side, away from other guests, as we are always mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. I ordered drinks and food at the bar, then stepped away briefly to use the restroom. The bartender (Olivia) was dismissive and made me wait a long time to order, not very inviting. When I returned, a manager approached our table in an aggressive and confrontational manner and insisted that we leave, claiming the dogs were barking. This was not accurate, neither of the dogs barked. We were shocked by the way the situation was handled, especially because there was no attempt to speak to us calmly or respectfully. It was a bit savage, something we aren't used to. When I asked what we should do since we had already ordered, I was rudely…

Great tiki style bar with amazing cocktails and great vibes. Great outdoor seating to enjoy the sea views.

The band Saturday night was one if our favorites. "Cover Up" always puts on a fum show. 90's music and a lot of fun people at this local hang out. The view is spectacular. As good a Florida tiki bar experience as you will find.
