What diners say — our read

Where diners and inspectors usually diverge, here they line up: both flag the same thing. Cleanliness cuts both ways here, averaging 3.3 among the reviews that raise it. Serving size is the next most common subject, in 30% of reviews (averaging 4.2).

How guests are treated shows up in 25% of reviews as well, averaging 2.8. Of the 20 rated reviews, 12 sit at four stars or better and 5 at two or below. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (10 reviews).

Set against that, the state's own inspection graded the kitchen an F (56/100), with 4 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 6 basic violations recorded. Reviews describe the meal; the grade describes the conditions it was made in. DBPR last walked in on May 27, 2026. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 1% of the restaurants we score. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and in-use food dispensing utensils properly stored.

When the crowd and the inspection agree this closely, the signal is worth taking at face value. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

We live vacationing here when in Orlando. Close to everything but in a beautiful tropical setting. The complex is large.

I reached out through their Horizons program and advised how their fees cost more than if I booked a vacation on my own to anywhere I wanted. I want to close my account, but they are not cooperating with me. I wish we never signed up with them.

Our family recently stayed at Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort, and unfortunately, our experience was a mix of excellent amenities and frustrating customer service. The resort itself is beautiful. The pools were fantastic, perfectly maintained, and always a comfortable temperature. There are plenty of activities for families, and our villa was comfortable. However, almost every extra amenity came with a premium price. Even a relatively simple breakfast for our family cost over $180 after an automatic 18% gratuity was added. We also rented a golf cart around 6:00 p.m., yet were expected to pay the full day's rental rate, which didn't seem reasonable. Our frustrations began before we even arrived. Earlier that morning, I called IHG to extend our stay by one day and was assured the reservation would remain continuous. That information turned out to be incorrect. Instead, we had two separate reservations, which significantly prolonged an already lengthy check-in process. While waiting, we overheard several other guests expressing frustration over check-in issues as well. The biggest disappointment came Sunday morning. Because of the reservation issue, our room keys suddenly stopped working. We first discovered this when we couldn't access the pool. I messaged the resort and was told the cards had likely been demagnetized by being stored near our credit cards. I explained that seemed unlikely since every card had failed simultaneously and suspected the issue was…

** check out is at 10, room service came knocking at 905 asking if we were ready to leave...yet rooms weren't ready by 4pm for anyone. Facility is clean. Faculty for the most part is nice. We had a huge issue when we had to cancel the "seminar" the manager was extremely rude. We had an emergency come up, had to cancel. He said their contract said "upon completion you get your $50 back." I told him your contract only says upon completion however never States anything about canceling or no shows, etc. We called the day prior to the seminar, tried to explain and he said they shouldn't have to state any cancellarion policy. All contracts have a cancellation policy! He told me to take it up with corporate but they'll tell me the same. He even laughed when I said Ill contact my bank for their charge. So whatever you do ONLY sign up for this BS seminar if you know for a fact you plan to go. You also can only use the supposed $200 at their own facilities. Onto the facilities. Mostly every restaurant closes by 6-7pm. Which is crazy because everyone who was by the pools had the same question, what food places are open here? You have all these guest but no where here to really eat besides one place that said it has a dress code. The arcade also closed by 7pm. This is a FAMILY place. We need things for our kids to do maybe until 9? Majority of hotels arcades are open until 9. The lazy river is a sad cry of a lazy river. Its shallow 2 ft 8inches.. deepest is a little over 4 foot. Which…

Very expensive for what you get. If you don't want the timeshare, they turn very rude. You have wash and make the pool towels are clean and in your room or they charge you per towel. I was very disappointed that most amenities are quite expensive to use. The pools are very nice those and the lazy was fun.

We have been coming here for 13th years, this year we had a party of 38 people. Always a good time, our home away from home.

This place has it all 1 mile lazy river 4 pools bunch of restaurants options.Great room.

Holiday Inn will not listen to our concerns. This membership is a money pit and the resorts are not worth the price. I would never suggest signing up with them. All they seem to care about is getting paid.

My husband and I absolutely love this resort. Love to come here for years to come. There are many pools and hang out areas, the water's edge has a hot tub and hammocks dance parties and karaoke tiki bars, nice and secluded with palm trees, beautifully stunning villas with back patios, lots of water, very large lazy river, water slides, and I hear water sports but I never got to that during the wonderful vacation we had. There's a full golf course. Miniature golf, and the center for purchasing tickets for outings. !!!!!

11000 aches and growing, no need to go to everything around the resort, shopping, food , drinks, and activities all on property

I love to be there with my family, was clean near to main street and beach and restaurants.

Great resort to unwind for a couple of days. Our villa was very nice and there was plenty to do without ever having to leave.

  • June 23, 2026

The resort is located not far from Disney world, Universal and SeaWorld. Lots of restaurants nearby and a mall. Very nice resort with awesome pool!

  • June 23, 2026

The check in was friendly and helpful. Got to our villa and it was clean looking. All rooms were clean and large except the bathroom. Tiny shower with little to no space between door and toilet. Shower had black areas that looked like mold or dark dirt. The sales department was nice till they seen we had been put in a different state for purchase of time share and then they politely treated us like we didn’t belong at that resort. I hope they don’t all have the same attitude towards lower points purchased. This is what gives time share a bad reputation.

Massive amount of people everywhere you look

  • June 23, 2026

Beautiful resort but have never had service this bad in my life. We got to our room and it was never cleaned from the previous guests! Called a couple times to try to get someone to clean our room but they would not. I didn’t put out the do not disturb sign all weekend in hope someone would show. I did get someone to make a couple beds (not all) after a couple calls, but they would not empty trash or vacuum like I specifically asked. I had to strip bedding, clean dirty silverware, rearrange furniture, vacuum, remove dirty tissues from beside beds…. I’m never left a Karen review in my life, and cleaning up after people is not beneath me, but when you pay this much you expect to not have to clean after previous guests. I called 8am check out morning and said at this point don’t bother sending anyone, then they finally rang the doorbell at 8:30 in the morning of checkout to clean! Unbelievable

  • June 23, 2026

Highly recommend a long as you understand they may try to sell ya on ownership. I mean... they did to me and that's why im an owner ;)

  • June 22, 2026

It is a nice look8ng place. But during our stay, the microwave stopped work8ng and they had to install a new one, the stove door wouldn't shut so it messed up cooking, and the hot water in the main bath wasn't working, so they had to have a plumber come out and fix it. But it was a very clean, and nice resort.
