Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
There is no middle ground in these 26 reviews. The staff tends to be raised approvingly here, averaging 4.0 stars.
22 of 26 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 3 are two or lower. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 22 of 26. What nobody raises here is tidiness — it goes unmentioned across all 26 reviews.
The inspection lands in between as well: DBPR graded this kitchen a C (78/100), citing 1 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 3 basic violations. That result dates from May 4, 2026. That puts it ahead of 15% of graded kitchens in Brevard County. What the inspector actually wrote up: food from approved source and potentially hazardous foods properly thawed.
Neither signal is decisive on its own here, which is why both are shown. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

"My recent visit to this Cuban restaurant was absolutely fantastic! I had the whole snapper, and it was truly amazing – perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. My husband ordered the roasted pork, and it was equally delicious. What really sets this place apart is the authentic, home-cooked feel of the food. It genuinely tastes like you're eating in a Cuban home, with all the warmth and deliciousness you'd expect from a mom's cooking. Highly recommend!"

Can’t imagine where the 5 star reviews are coming from. The absolute worst waitress in an empty restaurant. She cleaned a table before bringing the soda my husband asked for, never asked me if I wanted a refill til the meal was over and did not speak any English, by her own admission. The food was so bland. The Picadillo was just ground beef, the rice was lumpy and the beans so watery and tasteless. The decor ceased being authentic after the first inch of dust and rust. We will continue on to NiNi’s and never look back. Never felt so good about not leaving a tip!

I ordered a Cuban sandwich, the bread wasn't a Cuban style bread, it was super greasy, like when you fried a bread. It was falling apart from my hands.

First time but absolutely not our last. I hade Ropa Vieja and my husband had Arroz Con Pollo. Both excellent. Make sure you try their delicious juice. Lovely people. I highly recommend

Great experience. Massive thunderstorm during dinner which just added to it

Authentic Cuban food. Excellent choice of entrees. Try the Hemingway's rice. Great seafood and rice and plantains dish. Ask for the fruit and veggies mixed drinks (no booze). Great taste. The grilled fish platter is one of the best ever (mahi or snapper). Live music. Great decor. Try it. You will love it.

We make it destination place every time we are in town. The food is always amazing. We absolutely love all of the empanadas. We enjoy the sangria and every other dish we have tried, which is a variety have been amazing. This last trip was even more special when the owner stopped by and talked with us for a little bit, then got out his guitar and played us a couple songs. We had such an amazing dinner and the owner made it extra special.

The service was reliably on time just as you would expect from an old school Cuban restaurant. The food was spectacular!!! Every one of our seven meals were perfect. The atmosphere took me back to my youth in key west. I cant say enough good about this place.

This place never disappoints!!!

El Ambia has become one of our favorites with authentic Cuban dishes. The outdoor atmosphere is wonderful with all their nostalgic decorations. Great mojitos are a must to order!

This little hole-in-the-wall spot is everything I had hoped it would be. Authenticity drips from this place like condensation on the outside of a cold lemonade. I ordered the Hemingway Rice, which was delicious with its bits of fish, toothy and tender shrimp, and lobster tail. It was encircled by a wreath of a simple salad and perfectly fried plantains. My server was a friendly young man who spoke Spanish with a that Cuban accent I hadn't heard in years. The dish was a little spendy, but it was so delicious and filling what I believe it's worth the cost. There isn't too much seating here, but the intimacy of the eatery is part of the charm. The patio was perfect on a warm June evening.

The best Cuban food I had in the area. The outdoor patio is great! Try the red snapper fish or the pork - ropa vieja. The cuban coffee is amazing, and has quite a kick. The owner is an amazing guy and has his original airline jacket framed inside. Ask about it - great story.

Great food and service

My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch and were blown away. The ropa vieja and frozen mint lemonade was superb and the Cuban sandwich and coffee were authentic as hell. Will definitely be back soon.
-
This is the best Cuban food in Melbourne. We are Cuban, from Miami and found it to be truly authentic flavors. Our server was so kind and attentive. The food came out quickly. We will be back!

Got some Mojitos with a Cuban and a Shredded pork Sandwich, I am from Tampa and must say wow, this may be the best Cuban I have had! Strongly suggest! Platains were a great cherry on top!

Went twice, loved it twice. That's the metric for me and probably most people.

My favorite Latin restaurant around. The Cafe con leche is excellent, and the picadillo is my favorite dish, but everything is good there.

Initially when I brought my mother here it was a great atmosphere. We met Alfredo and Blanca, the owners and had a wonderful time. I brought my mother there for mother's day and it was about 1:20/1:30pm. We always order quickly but we were greeted with nothing but frustration and attitude by a male server named Luz. We were treatly so poorly that I didn't bother order based on the tone that was set by the waitor who was extremely annoyed that we sat in his section. He got one drink completely wrong but due to his incompetence, disgusting attitude, and impatience of us not knowing the language, he maliciously took it out on us. I didn't even bother engaging about the mistake and basically lost my interest in being there. I highly doubt we'd ever go again since the place isn't the same unless either of the owners are present. We hoped to have seen them again but due to the holiday it was understandable. Any and all servers should know that a double means a different pour in one drink and not two of the same drinks. I'm so disappointed that we got this treatment after learning so much about the owner and how he got where he is today. Outstanding back story. However, this one server caused me to not even want to bother coming here again. Going out is expensive and I refuse to pay to be treated like less than dirt. The server has no idea what hospitality or customer service truly is. He definitely would never ever be a part of my team if I was still managing in the food industry.…
