Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Recent visits are landing softer than earlier ones did. The staff cuts both ways here, averaging 3.6 among the reviews that raise it.
Serving size shows up in 16% of reviews as well, averaging 4.0. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 10 of 19. Of the 19 rated reviews, 14 sit at four stars or better and 5 at two or below.
Set against that, the state's own inspection graded the kitchen a D (64/100), with 2 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 14 basic violations recorded. Reviews describe the meal; the grade describes the conditions it was made in. That result dates from April 13, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is downward over the records we hold. Ranked against Lake County, it is safer than 12% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: cross-contamination.
There is no tension to resolve here: reviewers and the inspector reached similar conclusions. Full reviews follow below in the order they were left.

Jeremiah's was as it always is. Consistently average.
-
Unfortunately food was awful. Toliets thick with dust. Shepherd's pie was all potato minimal meat. Fries cold. Waitress very good. They also charge you for using a credit card.. Will not be going back.

So, sad. Visited 2x and Food was either soggy or burnt. Worse part was server didn't care since nothing was done about any of it. We'll never return.
-

Went to Jeremiah's yesterday, I ordered the chicken key largo with a side salad and fries and we got chips and salsa to start. About 40 minutes into our meal I started feeling sick, and I proceeded to throw up for 12 hours. When I called to try to speak to a manager to let them know how violently sick I had become from eating their food, I was hung up on. I definitely recommend trying out any other place in Mount Dora. Also for my husband and I and our 4-year-old daughter to eat it was over $60. Genuinely try anywhere else.

We are new to Mount Dora and have eaten at Jeremiah's twice in a month. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food has been tasty both times. We now consider Jeremiah's our favorite place to eat in town and are glad we found it. You can count on plenty of great-tasting, reasonably priced food, served by friendly folks who are glad to see you.

The staff was very friendly and I liked the Shepherd's Pie.

It's a nice Locals place. Been going here for 23 years. We almost always sit outside. The service staff is always friendly, and the food is great. I had one of today's specials, the blackened cheddar cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and onions with a side of fries. The burger was cooked the way I like it (medium) and the fries were nice and crispy. I would definitely recommend this place.

Good place. Locals hangout. All ages come through the front door. Wait staff are well-seasoned.

Very good food, fish good although it shrank over the years the oil to fry in is very well used over n over but ok, I call the fish and chips mini fish and chips now, salsa n chips NOT worth it small amount! shrimp, Ruben, chicken fried steak, key West chicken good, salad, french onion soup, extra $ for better sides like baked potato/ sweet potato, salad ect. prices have increased which is expected...so far for what you get is good quality, they charge extra for credit cards AND CASH LOOK AT OUR RECEIPT, yes!! Charged for cash!! still charge you the NCA credit card charge so check your receipts!!!! They also charge to take food home with a box also!!!!, Thats not good!!!, service is a hit or miss, good mostly, good food even though portions are smaller and prices went up ++ probably won't go back //to many hidden charges!// I call it semi scamming!! Extra to pay cash, extra for a baked potato, extra for a to go box, extra for credit card! have more receipts to upload to proof it!
