Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Reviews here split hard: 9 five-star against 4 one-star, with little in between. Opinion on service is split — those reviews land at 3.3 on average. After that, pacing appears most often — 33% of the corpus, averaging 2.3.
A third strand, what it costs, appears in 28% of them at 4.0 stars. Of the 18 rated reviews, 12 sit at four stars or better and 5 at two or below. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (9 reviews).
The inspection lands in between as well: DBPR graded this kitchen a C (76/100), citing 1 high-priority, 3 intermediate, and 7 basic violations. DBPR last walked in on April 20, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is improving, which argues for giving it the benefit of the doubt. That puts it ahead of 21% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. The citations behind that grade include food & equipment thermometers provided and accurate and handwashing.

Famous for their Frankenstein wings so we had to go and give them a try. We started with a dozen raw oysters ($18!), great price and a good size. We also ordered their soup of the day, Shrimp and Corn ($8.99). The soup was very watered down, the shrimp were tiny/miniscule and a lot of potatoes. Thumbs down 👎 on the soup for the price point. Unsweetened tea $3.75 and a pint of Yuengling $4 were very reasonably priced 👍. Nice selection of draft brews and bottled beers too. 10 wings for $16.50 with the famous Frankenstein sauce were not overly impressive for size, sauce and price👎. However, they came with a blue cheese sauce that was better than any blue cheese we ever had, because you couldn't taste the blue cheese 👍. We also ordered the Angus Burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly to the requested medium rare and the crinkle cut fries perfectly crispy per our request👍👍. We absolutely had to try the cheesecake from Patties Cheesecakes down the road. We had the Carrotcake Cheesecake and it was amazing for our dessert👍👍. The place is big, plenty of parking, full bar and very loud. Service was interesting. 1st waitress took our drink order and oyster order. 2nd waitress took our wing order. 1st waitress came back and took my beer and burger order and 3rd waiter cleared our plates and took our dessert order. Support local, give them a try. Good location, friendly staff and customers 👍

I came here with my boyfriend after the beach, got here at about 5:30. Immediately noticed it’s a predominantly white bar, with people older than us. For context, I am white, my boyfriend is middle eastern. We’re both in our 20s, dressed respectfully, not causing any issues. It took an hour and a half to get an appetizer and handheld. I understand rushes and busy hours completely, but a family nearby had come in about 20 minutes after us, ordered themselves drinks and food similar to ours, and left an hour before our food even arrived. We were even told we were second in line, 20 minutes before we got our food. If we had ordered rounds of drinks and full entrees I would’ve understood the wait, but the atmosphere was overall unwelcoming. Our waitress had barely talked to us except for asking us our orders. Food wasn’t anything to talk about either, disappointed and extremely frustrating. We were able to leave at 7:30, 2 hours later, after she conveniently was able to quickly process the check and get us out. Hoping this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Watch your credit cards!!! Food was good. So was the ambiance unfortunately, someone took my debit card information and tried to pay their cable bill with it. When you pay they take your card out of sight and that’s how they do it. I suggest the restaurant to use point of contact sales machines or pay by tap to avoid reviews like this. How do I know it was here? Because it was the only place I had used that particular card in months and only have been in that area for a fishing trip Saturday and the charge two days later was for Wire 3 which services over half of New Smyrna Beach and I don’t live there or use that provider or know anyone who uses that company. June 6, 1:56pm at Merks who ever was working that area if you want to know.

Great place good food

Their wings are fantastic and the staff is very friendly and quick. Admittedly, I've only gone for dinner on the weekend, so it could be very different during the week, but be aware it's very loud and crowded inside on Fri and Sat evenings (I've only been between 4:30-6:30 pm) Don't go thinking you'll be able to carry on a conversation over dinner. You have to scream at your table companions and it's very likely they still won't hear you. Lol

We ordered food and it took 45 mins and there was a sign up at the door saying holiday weekend expected longer wait period ok got it and completely understand. Food came out my husband's burger came out with bacon on it which he only wanted cheese peppers, it came out with bacon on it which he is allergic to pork so they took it back. Shrimp came out burnt and fries were salty. My friend ordered a salad and it was not supposed to be a side salad. So my friend talked to our waitress and she was getting upset when he was trying to explain what he wanted. My friend ended up saying he didn't want the salad. So I went up and asked for a manager no one came which was odd. So when the waitress came back she was so rude and I asked her to speak to a manager, she said she was the manager I did ok and explained to her that I have been sitting here waiting for her to come back so I could get another drink and she told me I could have grabbed another waitress to get another drink or asked for one when she was at the table being rude to my friend and she stormed off before I could ask for one. But everyone working there was either on there phones or talking with other employees not paying attention. With a rude manager/ waitress we will not be coming back to this place. I get you been slammed all day and busy which was thrown in my face I get it, but that does not give you the right to be rude.

Awesome Food!

I don't know what to tell you the people that are posting five-star reviews must be locals that know the owner because I've walked out of the place twice because of the worst service ever not even worth it for incredibly okay Frankenstein wings

Didn't eat there. Just had a few drinks, and some karaoke and then left. But it seemed really nice. Pool tables were busy and the food I saw people eating looked delicious. And not just normal bar food. Worth checking out! Super nice people.

Everything about this place is great. 1 night we had the wings. Medium. Frankenstein sauce on the side. Being from Buffalo, we were expecting mediocre wings. We were blown away. The wings were the best we've ever had. The Frankenstein sauce was incredible. Today it was linguine with garlic sauce and shrimp and pulled pork. Exceptional! I wish we discovered this place sooner. The people here are all so welcoming and friendly. Too bad we can't give more stars.

I think you may want to look at the prices of food. I paid 8 dollars for chicken on my salad. I think that was a little expensive.
