What diners say — our read

4.3 stars across 22 reviews, an F health grade — those two numbers are not describing the same visit. Opinion on the staff is split — those reviews land at 3.6 on average.

A third strand, pacing, appears in 18% of them at 3.0 stars. The split is 17 positive to 3 negative across 22 rated reviews, with 2 in the middle. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 17 of 22.

None of that is visible in a star rating: the most recent DBPR inspection graded this kitchen an F (40/100), citing 4 high-priority, 5 intermediate, and 13 basic violations. Diner sentiment and inspection result are measuring different things here, and only one of them is checked by the state. That result dates from June 19, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 1% of the restaurants we score. What the inspector actually wrote up: food from approved source.

The practical read: people enjoy eating here, and the kitchen still failed its last inspection. Those are separate claims, and only the second one gets checked by anybody. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Top 10 restaurants of my life. If you asked me whether I wanted to go to this restaurant or one of Gordan Ramsey's flagships, it'd honestly be a 50/50

The valet person today made me feel very uncomfortable. He mentioned before that I am messing with his tips. This is the 2nd negative encounter with the same valet guy. The staff was informed but never seem to care. You better come with your luxury vehicle that day and in a suit or else you will be treated like trash.

Atendimento simpático. Serviço excelente e se você olhar de fora nem tem essa presença impactante.

Just wow to Kabooki!!!!! Been here twice now and just getting to reviewing this spot. Let me first start with the staff! Great service from start to finish. Our server Michelle was very nice and offered good input to our questions about the dishes. We also had the honor to talk with Chef Henry Moso- we had a great conversation about the sushi and he even presented us with a dish. Grateful and delighted! kabooki's quality and execution of the dishes are a work of art! Both times we sat at sushi table and watched all the sushi chefs doing their magic was a great show. We started with the hamachi carpaccio and the beef carpaccio and both were chefs kiss We had the bluefin tasting which was great progression of variety of bluefin. Mauro Truffle, Kona Kampachi, leche de Tigro were tasty unique options. The use of micro greens and flowers was really pretty besides being tasty!! Definitely worth checking out!!

A solid 8/10 Japanese restaurant with a fantastic vibe for date nights. We ordered sushi and sake, and everything came out pretty fast. The highlight of the night was definitely the eel roll—unbelievably good! Interestingly, they also have roasted duck here. Even though I didn't try it, the ducks hanging in the display looked so mouth-watering. I’m already planning my next visit to try it out, but I heard you should pre-order the duck in advance. Highly recommend!

My first visit today was a mixed experience. I sat at the bar for lunch, and it took over 5 minutes for someone to greet me. After that, I waited almost 10 minutes before bothering the sushi chef to find me a menu (also I needed his help getting chopsticks/tableware later). The house warm sake was so bad that I didn’t finish the bottle (and I usually get two)… I have no idea what was served, but my standards for sake are low. It took almost 30 minutes for my classic sushi roll (1 order) and nigiri to be served. Thankfully, the sushi was very good.

We went her for my daughter's graduation night from UCF. It was a 10 pm reservation. The menu has excellent selection. We tried many items and all were delicious. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. It was a little cold in the restaurant, but maybe that's to keep the sushi chill. We loved it and will visit again.

Everything we had was so flavorful! Great date spot and great food

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I mean it's tucked away in a strip mall that sits kitty corner to a Target and across the street from a Longhorn. But as I walked in, I said "oh this is swanky." And it was quite possibly the best sushi I have ever had. Until tonight I didn't know that fish could be sweet. 🤯 The flavor layering was so on point.... I'm just mad I haven't tried it sooner. Will definitely be returning on the regular.

Beautiful Modern Restaurant. Limited Parking. Friendly and Professional Staff. Limited options on food. Food was amazing. I pretty much ordered all the cold tasting. The Truffle I wasn't a fan. Everything was amazing. Ribs were great portions. Drinks were so good. Great Vibes. Dress Fancy. Also just a noticed that plating the food was odd. Maybe a long plate not a bowl for the sashimi. Overall, great location for drinks, a gathering or a date.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Orlando, I’ve been to many Micheline star restaurants, but Kabooki is the one I always want to come back to, I love their variety, flavor combinations and service. The bartenders team was top notch tonight even though they were busy they provided a really good service. The only unpleasant thing I’d mention is the valet. The parking lot is quite small, so valet service doesn’t really feel necessary. Also, the attendant came across as overly pushy for tips, which felt a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was amazing 🫣

The only sushi place that is consistently delicious every single time. And we’ve probably been there 30 times.

Ive never felt so uncomfortable before at an establishment. I overheard Gabriel, who I think is the manager, talking disgustingly about some of the female patrons. Commenting on their bodies and stuff that I cant even include in this review. Nobody ever said anything, everyone went along with it. If you're a woman or someone with a child, dont come here. The servers were amazing and the food was fine. Just be weary of Gabriel because I am fully convinced he's a predator.

Delicious and fresh! Knowledgeable and friendly staff.... Still my favorite after several years.

Removed the Yuca appetizer for no reason, otherwise good.

My friend works here. He's been trying for months to get me to come here but we (wife and I) live in Jacksonville so it's a hike to get here. But let's me preface this by saying...THANK YOUUUUU!!! OH. MY. GOSH. There was a hickup with my reservation but Gabe handled it amazingly and was still able to get us seated. Looking at this place from street view you'd probably look past it. It's not flamboyant but it still stands out in it's own unique way and while the outside doesn't look like a 5 star restaurant the inside will blow you away. From the bar to the open floor plan and the music. You instantly feel like you've stepped up in class from other big name "5 star" restaurants. Our waitress Day is outstanding shes very attentive and pays extra close attention to detail. She's been super helpful in laying out how to navigate the menu what her takes were for the food and all just above and beyond I wish I could give her all of the business she deserves! The tables here are quite comfy and a suitable height. The seats are actually really comfortable too! I got to experience Shen's garden (cocktail) and right then and there I knew this place was about to blow me away! It's master Shen's own cocktail but my gosh it's pure nirvana! We ordered quite a section from the menu and everything was just hit after hit. My wife HATES sushi and we got the LV roll and ended up ordering another she loves it that much! We ordered the stone shrimp it was outstanding the flavor had a nice little…

The valet individual came into the restaurant and pushed my arm to tell me to move my car. I don't feel comfortable being pushed as a customer especially if I came to pickup a large order. I understand their isn't much parking space in the lot but there was no need to push my arm. When I came outside, he said I will make sure your car doesn't drive anymore next time you come here. I asked for his name and he said "I don't need to tell you my name!" I said "There is no need to touch your customers." He proceeded to push my shoulder this time and I moved out the way. My wife took a picture of him and I just decided to walk away. This took time for me to right this review as I am very surprised by the valet individuals behavior. The kabooki sushi employees are always great and patient. I hope this doesn't happen to any individual again. Hence the reason for this detailed review. I will leave a Better Business Bureau review as well so the valet individual can be told how to properly interact with customers. If the exact date and time is needed for camera review, I will be glad to provide the information.

The food was really good. But the service was not that great. During my omakase there was multiple times I had to wait 5-10+ mins for the next course. Due to the chef that was preparing my Omakase having to help the staff prepare food for dinner rush. I understand why they tried to change the reservation time. But as being a chef myself. They should have brought in another chef to accommodate my omakase. Now the atmosphere was kind of nice but not the greatest for an Omakase.

We visit the location twice a year for my and gf's bday, and have been the last couple years. Every time has been great experiences. Location has valet parking services. Gf has dietary restrictions but does not have issues ordering. Nice drinks, I enjoy the carpaccio and tuna sushi options.
