PIZZERIA DEL-DIO
PIZZERIA DEL-DIO is a 4.7-star room with a D-grade kitchen — the kind of gap a star rating will never warn you about, which is the whole reason this page exists.
That D comes from 2 high-priority, 4 intermediate, and 5 basic violations cited on March 13, 2026. It currently ranks safer than 7% of Orange County restaurants we grade — close to the bottom of the county. And the direction isn't reassuring: its recent inspections have been sliding, not recovering. If you want the flavor with fewer question marks, the safer-options list below maps higher-graded kitchens within a short drive.

Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
The crowd and the kitchen disagree here, and the gap is wide. Reviewers who mention service rate this place 4.6 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour.
If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (20 reviews). Older reviews score better than newer ones (4.4 recent against 5.0 earlier), so direction is worth weighing alongside the average. One subject never comes up here: how clean the place looks.
None of that is visible in a star rating: the most recent DBPR inspection graded this kitchen a D (67/100), citing 2 high-priority, 4 intermediate, and 5 basic violations. Diner sentiment and inspection result are measuring different things here, and only one of them is checked by the state. DBPR last walked in on March 13, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. That puts it ahead of 7% of graded kitchens in Orange County. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and handwashing.
The practical read: people enjoy eating here, and the kitchen still failed its last inspection. Those are separate claims, and only the second one gets checked by anybody. Everything above is computed from the 22 reviews reproduced below.

Love this place can’t recommend it enough this will be a weekly place

I found this place because it’s right next to the gym, and it quickly became my go-to spot for a mid-workout snack. I usually get the special — two slices and a drink for $8 — and the pizza is always fresh, hot, and made with quality ingredients. I normally get my order to go, but the atmosphere inside is really inviting and homey. The prices are very reasonable, and the owner is always there greeting customers with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. I rave about this place constantly, and anytime my friends from the gym are hungry, this is always the first place I recommend. Easily a 10/10 local spot.

Not floppy at all! Would recommend getting a slice from here

Such a comfortable, cozy place to enjoy a slice of pizza and some knots. Service was great too! We love that it’s family owned.

My wife and I was searching for a place to get some authentic pizza. We traveled to Del-Dio Italian Restaurant from Apopka Florida. When we arrived we were greeted by, I think her name was Lena or leann. However, she was very friendly. I said to my wife, since we've driven this far, why not try multiple items from the menu. We ordered pizza, philly steak, calzon etc. Everything was great. We will be back, if you haven't tried the food. It is a must have. Thanks for the service and the great food.

Went into this pizzeria today with my wife and Military trained service dog it's MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND(Were both disabled combat veterans (OIF/OEF/OIR ) The server proceeded to tell us we couldn't have our service dog in the restaurant. After showing his IDs and ours she continued to spit hot garbage from her mouth until we finally asked for our money and left. Even as we were leaving she yells in front of the entire dining room bye to us while waving her hands I WOULDN'T SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO THIS DUMPSTER FIRE ESTABLISHMENT who on MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND told 2 combat veterans and a military service animal they couldnt eat there. GARBAGE ETIQUETTE AND HORRIBLE EMPLOYEES!!!!!

Hidden gem! So good!

Very warm and friendly place. We went with family who have been here many times. They weren't wrong about how good the food is. I had eggplant parm (very yummy) but I kept eying my BIL's carbonara. But the best thing: those truly addictive garlic knots.

Was really looking forward to this place because of the reviews but was extremely disappointed to the point I have to leave a review. Me and my daughter came in for a few pizzas by the slice and when I asked what pizzas they could do, they said anything. So I asked for margaritas and was told no that they only do a slice and you pay for toppings…. Okay so not really anything? I placed the order to go because we wanted to take a few bites there and take the rest with us but when I got the pizza I was told they we weren’t allowed to eat it there since it’s in a takeout bag? 2 paper plates, 2 janky cut pizzas, in a brown paper bag, and the place wasn’t packed at all so I see no reason why the OWNER wanted to be strict about where his customers eat. He said because of trash which made no sense because it was literally just a brown bag, no big box like most places and we were taking it with us… Anyways, we get home and try the pizza and it’s even more disappointing. Overcooked, soggy toppings, flavorless sauce, and very greasy. Insulting to New York style pizza. Most of these reviews never had Sal’s pizza bar, if you want real pizza go there

Excellent pizza especially the Bianca

Been coming for three years. Best chicken carbonara in the world! I come sometimes for a two slice and drink combo. Which is good as well. Garlic knots are fire too! Most importantly love the owner and his staff. They make America great!

Absolutely love finding hidden gems! Pizza was perfection! Calzone was so cheesy and yummy! Little tiny garlic knots and sauce hit the spot! Great service with a smile 😀 See you again, soon!

Love this place!! Great tasting food. Service is always on point, Even when calling 30 min prior to them closing to place a take out order. They are awesome, have not been to any other since stumbling across them months ago

WOW!! Hubby and I were just casually walking to simply boba next door and smelled this delicious aroma of garlic and pizza. And boy that was a great decision! We walked in around 8:10, we were thinking of pizza but the slice but we weren’t sure they’d have anything left. The owner immediately greeted us and I’m assuming daughter or granddaughter helped along the way, you pick your slice and you can add toppings to it. We decided on just pepperoni can’t go wrong with it. OMG. It was delicious!! The crust was perfect, like a ny style pizza slice! We will for sure go back again to try the other dishes they have. We spent $10 on a soda and two pizza slices and it was plenty for the both of us. The service was great too!! Staff would come by and check in on us if we needed anything. Great service, great food, great family ambiance.
