What diners say — our read

How guests are treated dominates the conversation here — it comes up in 85% of the 26 reviews. Where how guests are treated comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.3, so it reads as a strength. How food arrives is the next most common subject, in 27% of reviews (averaging 4.7).

Behind those, portion size is raised in 27% of reviews (4.1 average). 5 stars is the modal score, given by 19 of the 26 reviewers who rated. The split is 20 positive to 3 negative across 26 rated reviews, with 3 in the middle.

The inspection lands in between as well: DBPR graded this kitchen a B (81/100), citing 2 high-priority and 3 basic violations. That inspection was on June 2, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. On health score it sits safer than 21% of the Orange County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were food from approved source and handwashing.

With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. The individual reviews are below, newest first, if you want the raw material.

The food was ok, but the service was awesome! Rich was our server and we love his work! If you came, ask for him!!

  • June 28, 2026

Service was friendly but very slow, food was average, mocktails were bad. Overpriced, even for Universal.

  • June 28, 2026

Delicious! Pizza and pasta dishes were amazing. Great service. Reservations are recommended. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I visited Vivo Italian Kitchen for a date night, and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere that feels perfect for a relaxing evening together. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the pasta, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it for a special night out.

Outstanding! Reservation for four(4) - no wait and excellent service. Food was great. Large portions.

Good place to stop for italian food at Universal. The chicken ravioli was very tasty, although the salmon was a bit bland. But overall it was great! Our waiter Brayde was amazing too, very polite.

My family and I had a delightful experience here. The drinks were so good, I needed to compliment the bartender in person. The kid’s meals were well received by my children. I had ordered the squid ink pasta which I found to be absolutely delicious. The service was quick and friendly despite being quite busy. A great option if you’re in the Universal CityWalk area.

Food was pretty good but cold. We waited 45 minutes to get our food and most of the plates were cold which was unfortunate. We had a party of 6 so I feel the automatic gratuity contributed to the degraded service/timeliness. I wouldn’t have tipped 18% ($52) if given the choice- more like 10% for cold food. I never post reviews or complain but am compelled to make an exception for Vivo.

This place was awesome! I had the squid ink platter. The food was very good and everything was tender and tasted great. The atmosphere in there was also very nice. Seats were very comfortable, and style was neat. Server was a little slow but very nice and helpful. Overall, would definitely recommend coming here.

Christine Made Our Night Unforgettable! If you are visiting Universal Orlando, you absolutely have to eat at Vivo Italian Kitchen—and if you get lucky, you’ll get seated in Christine’s section! Don't get me wrong, the food here is genuinely good. The pasta tasted incredibly fresh, the sauces were rich and flavorful, and everything came out beautifully prepared. It's easily one of the best dining options on CityWalk. But as great as the food was, Christine was the absolute highlight of our entire night. Her service wasn't just good; it was completely above and beyond. She was warm, incredibly attentive, and had this amazing energy that just made us feel welcome the second we sat down. She anticipated everything we needed before we even had to ask, offered great recommendations, and paced our meal perfectly. The kitchen makes a great meal, but Christine is the one who makes this place a 5-star experience. We will definitely be back to Vivo, and we'll be asking for her by name! Pros: Authentic and delicious food, great atmosphere, but Christine’s world-class service steals the show!

Had the lasagna at Vivo in Orlando and really enjoyed it. The pasta was cooked well, the sauce had great flavor, and the portion size was satisfying. The atmosphere was lively and the service was friendly. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the dish could have been served a little hotter. Overall, a very good meal and I’d happily come back to try other items on the menu.

My favorite place to go whenever I vacation at Universal. The portion you get for the price you pay is incredible, you always leave with another meal of leftovers to enjoy later. But thats not even the best part. The food is incredible. You can tell the cooks love what they do, this is the best Italian food you can get without going directly to Italy. But my dinner tonight was a new level. I had the pleasure of having Markell at my server, and let me tell you, he is the best. Funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and had quick service. The food came out hot where you could tell it didn’t sit for a second, the drinks took seconds, and he was always checking up on us. His jokes were amazing, and the whole time he had a smile on his face which just brightened the evening. Thank you Markell, I hope to be sat in your section the next time we eat here. Vivo, you better give this man the recognition he deserves!!

Giovanna was our waitress and she was unbelievably awesome. By far the best waitress we have had at Universal studios. The food was great but she made the experience even better. If you go, ask for her as your server!!!

  • June 10, 2026

Drinks were excellent, our service was astounding. I got the mushroom and truffle pizza. My boyfriend got chicken Alfredo with shrimp. We were celebrating 3 years together, he ended up with horrible food poisoning was sick all night and all day, couldn’t join me at Universal, had to get an extra night at our hotel. This one dinner just ruined the whole time and ended up costing us an additional $1200, cost us our entire day together.

Unfortunately, our experience at VIVO did not live up to the expectations the venue presents. Our server seemed disinterested in providing recommendations and after ordering our appetizer we were met with a “is that all you’re getting or…” Yes, in fact we did also order an entree. Appetizer arrived with missing ingredients and lackluster accoutrements seemingly plucked from a lunchable. The entree, although flavorful and balanced well between the red sauce and pesto with burrata, the portion size modeled that of a tasting menu not an Italian American restaurant entree. Bread service is non-existent which did not bother us much yet should be stated upfront as that’s a staple in the expectation of consumers in Italian American restaurants. Receiving a ‘survey’ link following our reservation led to a Food Service Delivery App in India and a very outdated reminder for their Mother’s Day Buffet.

VIVO Italian Kitchen at Universal Studio Citywalk

  • June 4, 2026

On June 3, 2026, my family and I ate at the vivo Italian kitchen. I’d like you to know how wonderful their food was but even more important how a certain waitress made us feel so comfortable. she was wonderful and her name is Christine. We had two small children that were very active and spilt water all over the place and Christine just smiled and said not to worry that’s what boys do. She cleaned it up. There was absolutely no nonverbal communication that would indicate that she was disgusted with us or that she was put out at all. On the contrary, she made us feel quite welcome. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food alone, but then truly brag about this restaurant because of Christine.

The food was okay, but the portions were surprisingly small for the price. It's definitely overpriced, and unlike many Italian restaurants, they don't even serve complimentary bread to start the meal. The atmosphere is beautiful and upscale, and the staff was fine, but overall the experience wasn't worth the cost. Not a place I'd be eager to visit again.

I am not going to write a hole essay but this place is amazing and I am definitely coming back

We stumbled upon Vivo and made same day reservations, we were seated immediately when we checked in. Our server was fun, fast, and attentive. He was personable with our whole family and gave great recommendations. The food here was our favorite overall the rest of other nearby restaurants not only were the ingredients fresh but also had great cocktails and mocktails. We order a Cesar salad with grilled chicken, spaghetti with meatballs, chicken Alfredo, and the calamari which was perfect!

Absolutely delicious food! Authentic pizza cooked to perfection and the buratta caprese was fresh and flavorful. Staff is welcoming and attentive

My husband and I visited VIVO Italian Kitchen at CityWalk Orlando yesterday, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. We both ordered the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo - and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best chicken pasta we've ever had. The sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, with tender chicken that just melted in your mouth. We'll definitely be ordering it again on our next visit. To drink, we both went with the Fragola Fresca mocktail - a sweet, refreshing strawberry cocktail that was absolutely delightful and a great complement to the meal. For dessert, we went our separate ways: I had the Tiramisù, which was absolutely divine - incredibly light and delicate, with a subtle coffee flavor and no overpowering taste of alcohol whatsoever. My husband chose the Semi Freddo, which was a smaller portion but surprisingly satisfying and filling. Both desserts were a perfect ending to the meal. And last but not least - our server Char was a true gem. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, with a smile that was genuinely contagious. She made the whole experience feel special and personal. If you're visiting CityWalk and looking for a cozy, delicious Italian dinner, VIVO is an absolute must. We'll be back!

Alex our waiter was absolutely awesome! He was so attentive, sweet, and engaging. I would fly back to Florida just to have dinner at Vivo if we were promised Alex as our waiter!!!

  • May 18, 2026

Food was delicious! The service was fantastic! One of our favorite dining experiences at Universal!
