Food was good but we found it too salty. Less salt and a salt shaker on the table might be some solution?

It was a great place to revisit Germany, so glad we made the trip.

You will always receive a top notch experience at Hollerbach’s. I recently had a chance to attend Chef’s Dinner at the Knight’s Table upstairs - what a unique dining opportunity. We were served 5 courses of delicious German food along with beverages of your choice in a very exquisite dining room which sat 26 people. We filled the room with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the night. Chef Pat greeted us between courses to explain each course and how to best enjoy it. We were also treated so a wonderful German Music performance during the evening as well. Highly recommend booking tickets for the next Chef’s Table.

It was a very busy Saturday evening; so it being crowded was expected. We went early to be able to find “close-ish” parking as I have mobility issue. The staff is very friendly. Our server Nick was, & usually is, great! Two out of the 3 of us enjoyed our meals, bratwurst & sausages. I usually get the jagersnitzel, but tried the rumplesteak instead. It was barely warm, overcooked, & dry…inedible. Our server tried to fix, but because it was so busy everyone had finished eating (& they’re slow eaters) before my replacement was even started. I’d try to come on a less busy day. We probably won’t wait again for dinner here. Probably best to make a reservation, but will still have to wait.

Great place food was good great prices good beer.

We went in today for lunch, and for two people our bill was about $100. We were seated quickly, the food was really good, and the portions are huge! Unfortunately, our waiter was the biggest disappointment. He only checked on our table twice the entire meal and seemed pretty disengaged. He forgot my dirty soda, never refilled my drink after the first refill, and we noticed the table next to us received a carafe of water while we were left with two small glasses. What caught me off guard was when he brought the check. As he handed me the silver tray, he said, “Coming for my money.” I understand that working with the public can be exhausting, and everyone has off days, but customer service still matters. If the job has reached the point where interacting with guests feels like a burden, it may be worth finding something that brings you more enjoyment. The food itself was excellent, but the service unfortunately took away from what could have been a great dining experience. We won’t be back.

If you're reading this, you probably already going to go there because it's one of the few German places but the service is always slow and they did not tell me beforehand that every class of root beer refill was $5 so imagine my surprise when I paid 40 bucks It's good food but it's super expensive and be prepared to wait

And, don't forget about the entertainment! It's well, very entertaining for all, from kids to seniors and everyone in-between. You'll most likely meet the owner who is mingling with all of his guests, I love that! Come, stay, eat slow and enjoy!

Food & service is always outstanding.

It was fun while it lasted... I have been eating there for years, and it was in my top 5 favorite restaurants. It was a very unique place with incredible dishes not found anywhere else. I enjoyed it so much that I would drive from Apopka to Sanford, and it was worth it. However, they recently changed their menu and eliminated almost all of their schnitzel recipes. Now, it is just another German restaurant with a schnitzel and some bland gravy, or sausages. The explanation provided was that management chose to eliminate more time-consuming menu items to allow more customers, essentially choosing quantity over quality. Too bad. It is no longer unique, and not worth my time, money, and gas to go there. I'll just go to Biergarten in Epcot if I want German food.

My family has been customers of Hollerbach’s for five years and regular visitors for the past two. We live about an hour away, and my husband specifically chose Hollerbach’s for Father’s Day lunch because it has always been one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, today’s experience was incredibly disappointing. In The Lodge, we stood waiting at a table for 10 to 15 minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. A neighboring guest offered us a chair for our toddler while we waited. I eventually tracked down a high chair myself with permission from the bartender Mason who knows us as regulars. When we finally sat down, the table was still covered in dirty dishes and multiple empty soda cans from the previous party, plus a bussing rag. Despite being seated, we still received no greeting from our server. Another bartender spoke with our server after I asked them for service. Even after that, our table continued to be ignored. I even watched the server look at us and then immediately turn around. When I finally got the sever’s attention, there was no apology. He remarked that he had thought we had been sitting there for hours. Then, he partially cleared the table, asking whether the remaining trash and bussing rag belonged to us. Though, he did immediately inform us that food ticket times were running about an hour, which we completely understood and were prepared for. He took our drink order and wrote it down. My husband’s beer arrived. My drink and my toddler’s drink…

I love this place. The pretzel, Cajun wurst, and potato pancakes are my favorite. Good bier selection and cocktails too! I always look forward to my next visit.

Authentic German Lunch with Great Service Yesterday we met our friends for our monthly lunch outing, and this time we chose Hollerbach’s German Restaurant in Sanford. It turned out to be a great pick. They seated us in a big, open room — no sound‑absorbing décor, but surprisingly, it never felt loud or echoey. We could talk comfortably the whole time. There’s also a charming little German market next door where you can pick up groceries and specialty items. Our server, Rebecca, made the experience even better. She was upbeat, knowledgeable, and handled our group like a pro. When we told her each couple needed separate checks, she gave a playful wink and said, “I gotcha.” She also made sure to check that I was okay with their unsweetened iced tea having a peach flavor before bringing it out. Small details like that go a long way. I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel, and the flavor was fantastic — rich, savory, and comforting. The only downside was that it wasn’t hot, more on the warm side, as if it had been waiting a bit. Still delicious. My spouse ordered the Sauerbraten, which looked great, though I thought the meat was a little dry even with the gravy. My goulash soup starter, however, was excellent. The place was busy, and I saw people waiting outside, so reservations are definitely a good idea. We all enjoyed our meals and the chance to catch up. Hollerbach’s is now on our list of places to return to for both the food and the German grocery items next door.
