Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Recent diners are rating this place better than the back catalogue suggests. Service cuts both ways here, averaging 3.9 among the reviews that raise it. Whether food comes out hot is the next most common subject, in 27% of reviews (averaging 3.2).
If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (14 reviews). The split is 15 positive to 3 negative across 22 rated reviews, with 4 in the middle. How long an order takes shows up in 18% of reviews as well, averaging 2.8.
The inspection record is the harder read. DBPR graded this kitchen an F (58/100) on 4 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 4 basic violations — a verdict the review average does not reflect. DBPR last walked in on December 12, 2025. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. That puts it ahead of 3% of graded kitchens in Indian River County. The citations behind that grade include food from approved source and food-contact surfaces clean and sanitized.
Taken together, this is a place diners like and inspectors do not. A good meal and a clean kitchen are different questions. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

Ribs are amazing 👏
-
Very nice places, they converted the old powerhouse to the restaurant and brewery. You can see the old power engine still there.
-
Great vibe, excellent food and beer..our server Noel was the best..Great place to relax or take guest from out of town..

Service (18% gratuity included): It was busy and that could have been why the hostess’s were a bit frazzled but that process wasn’t smooth. Server was good, attentive, no complaints. Food: Pizza and salad did not have anything unique. Pizza sauce on carnivore pizza was odd but overall ok for $17.50. The salad, also around $17, was ok. The chicken was perfect but the arugula overpowers the taste of everything else.

Enjoyed the friendly service from our beautiful waiter. Got there and was proptly served. Was visiting from South Africa. Would definately go back there when I'm in the area again.

Good food, good craft beers, very friendly service. Full bar available to satisfy any beverage choice. The only drawback is an 18% service charge added to each bill. The staff explains the charge, but I still don’t like it

Amazing place! Christopher served us and was so full of knowledge.

The service, food, and atmosphere here is great. The waiters are always so kind and quick! The food is always tasty. The good atmosphere cannot be denied, as it has such a rich history!

I ordered the PRIMO cheese steak sandwich. It was more like the size of a steak um frozen cheese steak . I expected exceptional at this location . I was extremely disappointed. They also automatically charge you an 18% tip for a party of 4 with separate checks . I expect that from a party of 6 or larger. We will not be back .

Great place for food and beer.

My husband and I love visiting this spot. The connection to Vero’s history makes it especially memorable, and the quality of both the food and service is outstanding. Their beer is fantastic, and the old fashioned is exceptional!

Awesome place great service just super underwhelmed by the menu

Food, service and atmosphere are awesome here! We loved the burnt ends and got them both times we were here during our vacation. My steak was undercooked but they more than remedied the situation by giving me a fresh steak and double the sides! I couldn't even finish it all! We will definitely be back when we come to the area again! We highly recommend!

Atmosphere is really cool, although a bit noisy. Food is great (try the sweet potato fries), exceptional beer list, & service is friendly & helpful.

Saw this place on television thought I’d try it, the nostalgia and history of the place was interesting My fun burger was ok, nothing spectacular, however they forgot the fries, I asked the person that delivered the food where the fries were and he said he didn’t know.. hmm so I asked the server to bring up the fries.. 20 minutes later I asked a passing by server to check, my waitress comes up with the fries and they were cold.. how could you serve this! she agreed, another 15 minutes and she returned with hot fries.. they were overcooked and smelled like they were fried in the same oil as fish.. I couldn’t eat it, it was so foul smelling, ( tried to upload a pic of the fried but couldn’t) to further insult me, they automatically tacked on 18% gratuity.. without my consent.. I don’t like when a location determines what I’m going to tip, that’s for me to determine and not forced onto my bill without knowing how my service was.. there was NO notice of that and I asked the waitress and from another table brought over a sign.. well that sign was not on my table.. wouldn’t recommend this place, nor return, there are better places to choose from in the area

Really nice place to have a meal and a great beer.

We sat awhile before being asked from someone behind the bar, what would you like to drink? being neither of us drank, we just asked for two glasses of ice water. Then a few minutes later, the waitress came over and said oh what can I get you to drink? We said that somebody had already approached us, We repeated ice waters! We asked for a few minutes to look over the menus and chat before ordering. When ordering I was told it was an up charge for the sweet potato fries of an $1.00 Not an issue. At the end of dinner we were asked was that one, check or two we said one, When presented with the bill, we were told that there was a automatic 18% gratuity added for the bartenders. We’re like well. Don’t you think that we should’ve been told that prior to being served? Seeing that we only had water! And the one dollar up charge turned into two dollars. The food was mediocre. My friend’s potato salad tasted like it was out of container from the grocery store and my icon burger was very salty.

We are still at the restaurant. It took quite a while to get all our beverages and our two pretzels and mozzarella sicks for a table of six adults and five children ages 10 to 3. Try to keep them settled down and calm after almost an hour waiting with no main course. The large table behind us with what appears to be a baseball team is getting their food right now and we’re still waiting on our food, though we were here long before them. Disappointing service wait and watching everybody else getting their food while we sit here without food. The wait staff has been very nice, but tihis is where the 18% added gratuity doesn’t work. The overall service has been generally poor. The food quality report will come after we finish . BTW, the beer was not cold. The food finally came in literally one plate at a time. It took about 15 minutes for everybody to get their meals. Just crazy! Everybody liked their food and there were no complaints about the food quality. I reiterated to the wait staff who were very sweet that this was not on them. Management needs to figure out how and why the service on this table failed so miserably and get that right. I for one will not be back here. BTW, this was my oldest daughter‘s birthday outing. I just found out from one of my daughter that the bill was adjusted and we were credited for thei alcohol and appetizers and 50% of the cost of the check was deducted.. That was very much appreciated and let me know that they realized that they failed…
