What diners say — our read

The newer reviews here read better than the older ones — 3.7 against 2.9. Opinion on service is split — those reviews land at 3.1 on average. After that, pacing appears most often — 22% of the corpus, averaging 2.2.

The split is 11 positive to 10 negative across 23 rated reviews, with 2 in the middle. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (10 reviews).

On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (82/100) with 1 high-priority, 2 intermediate, and 4 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. DBPR last walked in on April 9, 2026. The trend across inspections is decline. Ranked against Orange County, it is safer than 23% of the restaurants we score. The citations behind that grade include potentially hazardous foods properly thawed and nonfood-contact surfaces clean.

The weak part of this listing is the experience, not the sanitation — those are different failures. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

Not an LGBTQ friendly restaurant. Servers were making inappropriate jokes on our first visit. Decided to give it a second chance because of the food was decent but the second visit we weren’t even greeted, waited fifteen minutes at the table and left. Take your hard earned money somewhere else.

Food is good , staff are so rude , all the time

I ordered pizza, and it was so good, remind me of home. People very nice and welcome, really enjoyed the place and food 😊

John was simply amazing! From the time we walked into the restaurant until he walked me out under the umbrella

Best Italian Food in Orlando Our waiter Isabella was incredible helping us choose our plates Mussels & Pasta were delicious

  • June 18, 2026

Food was ok , but for what I paid for lunch a little bread or salad to go with it would have been worth it.

The food was very good again and pretty quick — that part is always consistent and one of the reasons we keep coming back. But today’s service was genuinely disappointing, and I say that as someone who works in the industry myself. When we were first seated, the table was still dirty. I politely asked for some napkins, and the server said she’d be right back. Instead, she stood right in front of us talking and laughing with another server for about three minutes before wiping the table. She could’ve easily dropped the napkins off first and then continued her conversation — I wouldn’t have minded. But watching her ignore what I had just asked for and socialize instead felt unprofessional. Later, when we asked for a few more minutes with the menu, she didn’t come back for almost 15–20 minutes. The table next to us actually got their food, ate, and were finishing up by the time she returned — which honestly made the whole situation even more frustrating. As a server, if someone asks me for a few more minutes, I always check back in 2–3 minutes. It wasn’t busy enough to justify that long of a wait, so it really just felt like we were forgotten. We also asked for bread, and again it took about 10 minutes. During that time, we saw her chatting at the bar instead of grabbing it. I fully understand talking with coworkers — I love doing it too — but guests come first, especially when they’re waiting on something simple. When she finally dropped off the check, she placed it on the…

My friend and I had a great dinner experience here. We sat outside because the weather was great and I’m very glad we did! Service was great, very prompt and friendly. And the food was fantastic! I definitely recommend the Vitello Marsala and the Bruschetta, they were both amazing.

If you’re hungry , don’t order take out from this place , by far the slowest service in the nation, wether they’re busy or not, they’re slow

  • May 16, 2026

Went for lunch on a weekday, the food was great as was the service. The weather was good so we chose to dine outside, the only thing that wasn't good was that all of the delivery trucks including the trash truck decided to make a stop at the restaurant which is next to the outdoor seating area, if we knew that we would have chose to sit inside.

Ordered Ravioli Funghi To Go. Comes with No sauce. Website states brown butter sage sauce in description. It’s dry. Call in and speak with manager George. Zero sympathy. Tells me to call Uber Eats. Very upset with how they handled. Could have easily offered a gift card or opportunity to pick up a fresh plate. For a staple in Winter Park, we all should get better for a $25 pasta dish.

Empty restaurant, one party here besides ourselves . 45 mins for 2 pizzas to come out , and still not out . Watched the pizza literally go in the over after 40 mins , server claims chef didn’t see the “ ticket” when the chef has been on his phone behind us the whole time . Server should have checked on our food 15-20 mins into ordering . Took a hour train ride to come eat here , and what a waste of time . The manager is another sorry excuse of someone that runs the restaurant. Called him over and all he could say was that the pizza went in the oven and should be right out . Obviously. No rush to get guest food out, horrible service and horrible management. Do not recommend, do not waste ur time unless you have two hours to spare and waste . Will never come back . Maybe why this is why there empty .

Not nearly as good as it has been in the past

  • May 7, 2026

Was present here with a pretty large wedding reception on April 25th. Never been here before. Was absolutely blown away by the service, atmosphere, and food. I will be back next time I’m in the area. Every single employee was cordial, and friendly. Highly recommend!!

    Absolutely an amazing experience!

  • April 30, 2026

We have been going to Armando’s for years and have visited all three locations; Winter Park, Orlando, and Lake Nona so we have had consistently great experiences in the past, especially at the Winter Park location, which has always been our go-to. That’s why this week (4/28/26) was so disappointing. We ordered our usual Rigatoni Bolognese with added meatballs and it just wasn’t up to the standard we’re used to. The food came out lukewarm, overly oily, and overall lacked the quality we’ve come to expect. Service was also off. Our waiter seemed well-intentioned, but he didn’t check back in on us during the meal or refresh drinks. The only time he returned was after dropping the check, and even then, it felt rushed as he came back multiple times asking if we were ready to pay, without giving us a chance to finish our drinks or enjoy the moment. For a place we have supported for years, this was easily our worst experience and for an $80 meal, it was a real letdown. I am not sure that we will return!

Best Italian in Winter Park. Not even close. Atmosphere is great. Service is ok.

  • April 11, 2026

I’m giving 2 stars only because the atmosphere is nice and the waiter was friendly and was doing his best. If not for that I would have put zero stars. A group of 8 of us went here for my wife’s birthday. My lasagna was definitely microwaved, my wife’s food was cold and not good at all. One person had a small black hair on her pizza. The chef came out to get the plates, saw my wife had a birthday ribbon on, asked her why she didn’t eat her food. She said because it’s cold and didn’t taste good. He didn’t not offer another plate or take it off the bill smh… He basically was like “that sucks”. The hair on the pizza, same thing. No offer to make another one or take it off the bill.I didn’t even bother to complain about my food after I saw nothing would be done. We were not there looking for a free meal, it was her birthday and I just wanted her to have a nice meal. We will not be back!

I ordered a take out “panini” which at armando’s is the equivalent of a cold sub. The reason I am writing a review is because the meat on the italian panini (salami) was spoiled.

  • April 9, 2026

I ordered food for delivery, once I received my order there was hardly any sauce on either dishes and the noodles were hard and dried out. I also ordered zucchini fries which were good! I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but for the price that I paid for the food, I’m extremely disappointed.

  • April 5, 2026

The food is nothing short of exceptional. Each dish is crafted with rich, authentic flavors that truly transport you straight to Italy. You can taste the quality and tradition in every bite, from the perfectly prepared pasta to the beautifully seasoned entrées. What truly sets Armando’s apart is the experience as a whole—impeccable service, a sophisticated yet inviting setting, and cuisine that exceeds expectations. This is more than just a meal; it’s an experience worth savoring.

  • March 24, 2026

Very disappointing. We used to come to Armando’s 3 days a week but that ENDS today. They could not get a “double sauce, light cheese” pizza correct. When we returned it, the manager said they can’t make it again and we will just take it off your bill. His Solution to the cook not knowing what double sauce meant was that we can’t eat dinner! The owner was there and we wanted to let him know how his manager treated us but the owner WOULD NOT talk to us. We were never planning to write a review, just wanted the owner to know how bad the manager is but if the owner is also SO rude we will no longer be supporting this “Italian restaurant “ that can’t make pizza. The picture is also my to- go meal. Sauce like water. Needs new manager, new chef, maybe new owner advisor.

We went here for a birthday dinner and the food was delicious. They were busy as it was Saturday night but service was great and efficient. Cocktails were great as well. They seem to have a following and you can tell why.
