What diners say — our read

Diners writing about this place keep returning to service. Where service comes up, the rating that follows averages 4.2, so it reads as a strength. Pacing is the next most common subject, in 32% of reviews (averaging 4.7).

22 of 28 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 2 are two or lower. If you had to pick one number to represent this corpus it would be 5, the most frequently given rating (17 reviews).

The kitchen graded a B (88/100) on 1 high-priority and 4 basic violations at its last inspection, which is roughly where the reviews sit too. DBPR last walked in on February 24, 2026. That puts it ahead of 37% of graded kitchens in Orange County. The citations behind that grade include cross-contamination and dishwashing facilities.

My chicken sandwich was so tough that I could only eat the middle of the chicken, like leather but harder. The burger my son had was so salty that he sent it back for a replacement. The milk shakes tasted like flavored whip cream. The service was mediocre at best. We were seated in the bar area instead of the entertainment area. It has been a long, long time since I have been this disappointed in a restaurant!! My advise is eat anywhere, but here!!

Barbie is always wonderful we come here just to see her. She is also very helpful, energetic and fun.

Was expecting this to be gimmicky with mediocre food, I was STUNNED: Outstanding food!!! Wow. Those pork belly sliders and brie/bacon flatbread will forever be ingrained in my memory🥰 Their signature chocolate infused old fashion was to die for🤌❤️. The cast members were adorable!! Quick service, fabulous menu, awesome environment. In my opinion best theme restaurant in Orlando. Definitely worth it!!!

Delicious desserts and enjoyed the staff at the bar, a little pricey but worth it!

Lawson is goated. Food was amazing!

  • June 27, 2026

We had the best time at Toothsome tonight! Food was delicious, service was fast, and our waiter Lawson was the BEST! He was so attentive and really made our experience a great one. We’ll definitely be back!

The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is one of the most visually unique restaurants at Universal CityWalk, combining a steampunk-inspired atmosphere with a menu focused on comfort food, desserts, and oversized chocolate creations. The restaurant immediately stands out with its industrial-style design, brass details, gears, and chocolate-themed displays that make the space feel like an experience rather than just a place to eat. The biggest draw is the dessert menu, especially the over-the-top milkshakes and chocolate creations. The milkshakes are designed to be as much a visual attraction as they are a dessert, with large toppings and elaborate presentations that make them perfect for photos. The chocolate bread, macarons, truffles, and other bakery items also add to the experience, giving guests plenty of options beyond a typical restaurant dessert menu. The savory menu is broader than expected, offering burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and other comfort food options. The food is generally solid, with dishes like the burgers and larger entrées standing out more than some of the lighter options. While the restaurant’s theme is built around chocolate, the savory dishes help make it a full dining destination rather than just a dessert stop. Service is usually another strong part of the experience, with staff helping guide guests through the large menu and explaining some of the more unique items. The restaurant can get crowded, especially during busy CityWalk hours, and waits are…

This place was great from the service to the food will definitely be back

  • June 27, 2026

The wait time was as expected with a reservation, and the front desk people were very nice. Our server, John, was adequate, but we didn’t see him very much and had to request him from another server to get ketchup, an extra plate, refills, etc. In his defense, it was very, very busy with very few empty tables and not enough staff to handle the amount of customers. The food was okay but not good enough for the cost. The chicken Alfredo was edible but had very little flavor. The teriyaki salmon with rice and vegetables was good but not any better than our local hibachi restaurant. Overall, the shakes and desserts are their specialty and were good. The meal offerings are adequate but not worth the prices for lack of flavor and service. At this price level, you expect better service.

So this restaurant isn't bad per se, but there are some issues. The staff and service were great, but the food experience needs some work. I ordered a Monte Cristo which I admittedly have never had before. There was a mountain of fried material on this sandwich, almost as much as a funnel cake. I couldn't even finish half of the sandwich. I then ordered the brookie dessert hoping for a better dessert experience, but the ice cream wasn't that great and the brookie and cookie that came on it were very hard. Ultimately, when picking this place, weigh whether your children / family can finish a whole meal and an enormous dessert. Otherwise you're throwing money away. Again, the staff were great, and I'm sure there were other food choices that were very good.

The restaurant was clean and cool. I guess I expected more physical styling inside but it was still nice looking. Our server was great; very helpful and attentive. Food was good. Regretfully, we did not try dessert.

Alexander the bartender was very informative and he provided excellent customer service and great tips. I really enjoyed the food, drinks, and the service!

  • June 21, 2026

Terrible food quality Don’t throw ur money

  • June 21, 2026

Jordan behind the bar upstairs was phenomenal! If you are a mule guy like me. You have to try the chocolate cherry mule!

My husband and I love going to The Chocolate Emporium for date night. Our most recent date night we headed to the bar in hopes to see Dean again but were sad to find out he had to call out for the evening. Lewis took great care of us, though! The brandy peppercorn sauce is to die for and he was so supportive of my sauce addiction...he actually brought me a huge cup of it to smother my potatoes in! I also asked for extra ranch for my cocoa and hot honey wings (which are 10/10 btw), he wanted to bring me out a Costco sized jug of it but the kitchen wouldn’t let him. He still came through for me with 3 extra cups. We can’t wait to go back again!

This was our 2 nd visit in 8 months. Ryan was our server for both visits for dinner. Great service and food. Desserts are the best. Try to make reservations.

  • June 21, 2026

Jordan was an amazing bartender. He was attentive and provided great suggestions. I really enjoyed his service and will be back for sure.

  • June 21, 2026

Do not eat here. The food is insanely priced with very poor quality and small portions. The staff was very friendly, and they can’t help what is served. Stick to the sweets downstairs because those are excellent.

  • June 20, 2026

They took the one thing we went for off the menu...so was little disappointed...

  • June 20, 2026

We loved our experience at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium so much that we came back for a second meal during our trip! Everything we ordered was delicious, from the entrées to dessert. The food was consistently great, and the service was great The milkshakes are over-the-top and indulgent which is exactly what you’d expect. They looked amazing and tasted great, though they were so rich that a few bites of my kids’ shakes were more than enough for me. Suggest making a reservation.

One of the absolute best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar, and Jordan provided exceptional service. Everything from the drinks to appetizers to entrees to dessert was impeccable. 100/10 recommend

  • June 20, 2026

Some of the best food in the entire park if not Orlando itself. Jordan, our server was extremely nice and conversational, he also helped us figure out our decisions in the menu which was awesome! Highly recommend if you’re going to universal

  • June 19, 2026

This is tradition at least 1x per Universal visit, no matter the park we are visiting. Love having dinner at one of the fantastic restaurants at Citywalk & we hit Toothsome for milkshakes after! They have a restaurant here as well but we’ve never sat down to eat. We usually just go straight to the sweet treats line at counter!

  • June 19, 2026

I planned this dinner spot because I thought it would be a great memory for the kids, and boy was I right! Awesome food, amazing atmosphere, and the building exterior/interior and characters walking around were a nice touch. BUT: I highly recommend getting a reservation in advance. They get busy quick, and it gets hot easily if you have to wait outside. Although the food was fantastic, I would say the service was slow. BUT we ate there after we were done with the parks, so it didn't cause any issues for our trip.

The restaurant was absolutely fabulous. The food, cocktails, desserts and service were impeccable. Five stars. However the store portion the chocolate goodies in the case although they had an extensive selection were beyond disappointing. Not only in appearance but in taste as well. The chocolate shot cups were discolored as if the chocolate was old. It has gotten warm then rechilled. The chocolate had a white bloom on it and it wasn’t just one it was all of them. The rice krispy treats with M&Ms the candies were all cracked and discolored. We settled on macarons and the salted caramel shot and the naked key lime shot. The macarons were so hard they were inedible. Straight to the trash. The naked key lime shot the graham cracker tasted rancid I spit it out. The white chocolate gear that it sat on also tasted old and went in the trash. The key lime portion had a nice flavor but was hard so it had been there for awhile. The salted caramel shot had a nice flavor but was also hard so had been there for awhile. It confusing that the restaurant could be so very good yet the store/bakery so terrible. Eat inside avoid the store at all costs
