What diners say — our read

The recurring subject in this corpus is front-of-house, not the food in general. Reviewers who mention the staff rate this place 5.0 on average — it is working in the restaurant’s favour. After that, how long an order takes appears most often — 38% of the corpus, averaging 4.8.

14 of 16 rated reviews are four stars or higher; 0 are two or lower. More reviewers landed on 5 stars than any other score — 13 of 16.

On the health side, the most recent DBPR inspection returned a B (89/100) with 1 high-priority and 3 basic violations — middling, much like the reviews. That result dates from May 21, 2026. Across its inspection history the kitchen is declining, which argues for reading the older reviews with caution. That puts it ahead of 48% of graded kitchens in Volusia County. What the inspector actually wrote up: wiping cloths and insects/rodents/pests.

With both signals pointing the same way, there is little to argue about on this listing. The reviews themselves follow, unedited and newest first.

Friendly, happy staff. Food was delicious, portions quote sizeable. Can't wait to try more of the menu. You have to get the undecided soup.

If you're in Ormond beach, Hulls's is the place for mouth watering seafood. Hostess; Jazmin was very accommodating for my party of 13. Wait time was less than 15 minutes. ( it took it longer to find parking) Our waitress Emmaline was the best. She had exemplary customer service and knows the menu inside out. Truly memorable experience!

Honestly, we love Hull's. Our swordfish was amazing. We sat outside and the flies were biting us and flying into our food. We tried to get our food to go but we had to wait for boxes and the check even though we expressed why we wanted to leave. The good is great but eat inside.

Best meal we’ve had our entire trip. The Shrimp Po Boy was incredible and my wife’s Crab Boil was just perfection. Thank you Ms Lydia for taking such great care of us. We will be back, no doubt.

Hull's has the best seafood in Volusia County. It has expanded it's outdoor eating area and is great for lunch or dinner. Parking is limited but they offer free valet service. Wide variety menu. All seafood is super fresh. Had the fish chowder today. Magnificent!

The main dining area was closed so they seated us in the bar. The lobster tail was tasteless. However, our guests enjoyed oysters on the half shell.

If you want real seafood go here you won't need to go anywhere else. Very good food very reasonable prices.

One of the best seafood places around!

  • June 22, 2026

We had a very large party (18) and Steve was very helpful in suggesting ideal times to arrive so we could all sit together with the least amount of wait as the restaurant is first come, first served with no reservations. Food was outstanding and our entire party had an excellent time!

  • June 20, 2026

The food here is outstanding. When we arrived the wait time was almost an hour and a half. We were very fortunate to find a couple chairs at the bar and sat right down. The service was terrific. If you like new England clam chowder it is a must at Hulls.
