SENOR TACO
The crowd and the inspector disagree about SENOR TACO, and it isn't close: 1,620 reviewers settle on 4.6 stars, while its latest health inspection lands at a D, 66/100.
That D comes from 3 high-priority and 10 basic violations cited on January 13, 2026. It currently ranks safer than 9% of Volusia County restaurants we grade — close to the bottom of the county. And the direction isn't reassuring: its recent inspections have been sliding, not recovering. If you want the flavor with fewer question marks, the safer-options list below maps higher-graded kitchens within a short drive.

Community Rating
Reviews via GoogleWhat diners say — our read
Read these 20 reviews next to the inspection report and they tell the same story from two directions. Reviews mentioning what it costs average 3.6 stars, so it divides opinion rather than settling it. The staff follows at 20% of reviews, where ratings average 3.8.
5 stars is the modal score, given by 14 of the 20 reviewers who rated. A third strand, cleanliness, appears in 15% of them at 3.7 stars. The split is 16 positive to 3 negative across 20 rated reviews, with 1 in the middle.
None of that is visible in a star rating: the most recent DBPR inspection graded this kitchen a D (66/100), citing 3 high-priority and 10 basic violations. Diner sentiment and inspection result are measuring different things here, and only one of them is checked by the state. That inspection was on January 13, 2026. Its inspection trajectory is downward over the records we hold. On health score it sits safer than 9% of the Volusia County restaurants we grade. Among the items recorded were food & equipment thermometers provided and accurate and cross-contamination.
What to do with that is a judgement call — the reviews describe the experience, the grade describes the conditions behind it. Read the originals below and judge the pattern yourself.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in Florida!!!
-
The food here was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed our meal!
-
I actually liked this place. It's a small 2 table one bathroom little restaurant. We had our food to go and brought it back to the hotel room. We had the guac 🥑 the queso, Birria tacos and reg taco. My 🌮 was cold but I heated it up and I have to say I enjoyed the flavor.

We’ve been making this trip for about 6 years now! We love this place
-
We were on vacation and ate here several times, the food was great and the service was also. There are tables inside and a few outside also. The price seems to be on the higher side, but as I was saying the food was great!
-
Excellent food. Just a couple tables inside and outside but also take-out. Staff were excellent and the food was very good. Ordered tacos chimichangas, guac, chips, pinto beans, rice.
-
I think I might have just had the best tacos of my life. Seriously so good.
-
I would rate the food ok. Its not great nor terrible. There are better places where you get a better meal for the same or even less money.
-
Great quick stop for tacos and birria after being at the beach!
-
Husband and I had the birria tacos and they were fantastic. The woman who took our order was really nice and the food came out quickly, will be back.
-
Awesome little taco restaurant... I just went with the classic 3 beef crunchy tacos "senior style" really good tacos! And the price 3 for $9 is great! Definitely hit the spot for lunch! There's a couple of booths inside, some tables on the patio... definitely will come back when I'm in Daytona

Best fish taco around 😋
-
This is best Mexican food I’ve ever had
-
Had nachos on first visit based a recommendation of friend. Large portion tastes great. 👍 Inside and outside seating.
-
The fish tacos were delish 😋 definitely stop by if you’re ever in Daytona.
-
The water dispenser is part of the soda machine and yellow water comes out, meaning they do not clean the soda nozzles and actually it takes a long time of not cleaning before water is tinted yellow sharing a nozzle. The salsa has high acidity and tasted cheap like it came out of a jar that you buy at Walmart, it has to be the lowest quality salsa ive ever had at a restaurant and clearly was not made in-house. My chicken on the tacos was dripping wet soaked in marinade but somehow it was still dry chewing it.
-
Mexican is my favorite food but this tasted extremely different than any Mexican I’ve had with a heavy flavoring that was not consistent with most Mexican restaurants. Limited seating, no free chips and salsa. Overpriced and I couldn’t even finish my taco. Not for me
-
The food and staff is beyond good the store is clean and the prices are awesome 😎
-
Good food. Nice burritos
-
I wouldn’t take my family back to this establishment!!! My order got messed up and when I went to get it corrected they took food off my plate, which I was supposed to have and had to go back and get it. My tacos were ice cold but we didn’t say a word. While there we ate and tried to refill our drink and was told no because they are closing but I had just gotten my food!! We spent most very $120 to get treated like trash… if you care about customer service don’t waste money here there are other qmazing places that will treat you with respect!!
